BEST Landscaping Cultivates Hope at SANCCOB’s Seabird Nursery
In a vibrant display of community spirit, BEST Landscaping has joined forces with the Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds (SANCCOB) to bring a splash of green to the newly completed Pamela Isdell Seabird Nursery in Table View.
This community gardening project goes beyond aesthetics. By planting indigenous shrubs, coastal grasses and nectar-rich blooms, BEST Landscaping is helping to create a restorative habitat for critically endangered African Penguins and other seabirds under SANCCOB’s care.
Rooted in Table View, BEST Landscaping views corporate social investment (CSI) as both a moral obligation and a strategic business imperative. “Being ‘rooted’ in this community means everything to us,” explains Julian Bartels, CEO of BEST Landscaping. “We’re proud to support SANCCOB’s vital conservation work and to contribute to a greener, more resilient neighbourhood.”
SANCCOB’s Head of Operations, Melissa Knott, adds: “Thanks to BEST Landscaping’s sponsorship and hands-on expertise, our nursery garden has been transformed into a welcoming space for visitors while offering our team daily inspiration as they rehabilitate seabirds and combat the decline of the African Penguin.”
This partnership exemplifies BEST Landscaping’s broader CSI philosophy: true success is measured not just by the beauty of a landscape but by the lasting social and environmental impact it delivers. The company specialises in working within low-income communities, collaborating with NGOs and NPOs to pinpoint areas of greatest need. From designing community gardens and renovating public parks to implementing sustainable urban agriculture initiatives, BEST Landscaping brings horticultural expertise and project management rigour to every endeavour.
For existing and potential clients in the landscaping and construction industries, this project highlights how bespoke horticultural initiatives can fulfil CSI commitments while enhancing brand reputation and community relations.
Whether you’re planning a corporate campus, commercial development or public-space upgrade, BEST Landscaping provides end-to-end support: concept design, plant selection, installation and long-term maintenance, all aligned with ethical frameworks and billing codes that meet industry
standards.
As operational costs rise and stakeholders demand tangible evidence of social value, group-based green projects like the SANCCOB nursery garden offer a cost-effective way to demonstrate environmental stewardship, community engagement and sustainable growth.
